Description
A King size four-poster bed crafted from stained hardwood. The piece features a high-impact traditional design influenced by Continental and French Provincial styles. The headboard is constructed with an arched top rail surmounted by a central, high-relief carved crest featuring a stylized shell and scrolling acanthus leaf motif. The body of the headboard consists of three recessed vertical panels and is flanked by two turned and fluted posts terminating in ball-and-steeple finials. The footboard features a scalloped serpentine lower apron and two substantial posts with thick fluted central sections, turned bases, and oversized matching finials. The bed utilizes a bolt-together assembly with circular brass covers concealing the bolt holes on the exterior of the posts. A modern quilted mattress is included.
Condition report:
The bed is in excellent pre-owned condition. Visible wear is minor and consistent with light residential use, including small nicks and light surface scratches on the lower portions of the posts and the footboard apron. No major structural defects, breaks, or repairs are observed.
