Description
A pair of Colonial Revival Chippendale style carved mahogany side chairs, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Each chair features a dark reddish-brown finish and a pierced backsplat with interwoven Gothic-influenced designs, topped by a scrolled, carved crest rail. A central shell carving adorns the front seat rail. The chairs stand on cabriole front legs with carved acanthus leaf details at the knee, terminating in carved claw-and-ball feet, while the rear legs are plain and tapered. The removable seats are upholstered in a black and off-white vertically striped fabric. No visible text or markings are present.

Condition report:
Areas of finish loss and chipping are present, particularly to the crest rails. General wear, scratches, and minor abrasions are visible on the wood surfaces, consistent with age and use. The upholstery shows minor wear but appears generally sound.
