Incredible Lifetime Collection of Atlanta Resident: Part I
Lot 97:
Description
A pair of rectangular prints depicting ornate classical architectural or decorative pilaster-like elements in a Neo-classical revival style. These prints are after designs by Raphael for the Vatican Loggia, originally engraved by Giovanni Volpato. Each print features intricate details such as stylized columns, pedestals, urns, volutes, putti, and acanthus leaves, rendered in a muted palette of creams, golds, reds, and browns. The prints are double-matted in a neutral taupe/brown and framed under glass in ornate, multi-layered frames with gold-toned and faux dark wood finishes. Labels on the reverse identify the items as “PRINT” with inventory numbers including “CC-644 A” and “0709”, and indicate framing by “FRAMES & ARTS, Inc.” of Montgomery, AL.
Condition report:
Overall good condition, with no significant visible damage to the frames or prints. Minor wear consistent with age and handling may be present.
