Description
A gilt-bronze figure of a standing Bodhisattva, likely Guanyin, modeled in the archaic style of the Sui Dynasty. The deity is portrayed with a slender, elongated form, standing atop a double-lotus pedestal that rests on an octagonal plinth. The figure holds a long-stemmed lotus bud in the left hand while the right hand is lowered at the side. The face features a serene expression with downcast eyes, elongated earlobes, and a small urna on the forehead. The figure wears a tall, pointed crown and is adorned with a necklace and thin, clinging robes characterized by U-shaped folds and long scarves that flow from the shoulders to the base. Included is a removable openwork mandorla decorated with a central circular lotus halo and stylized flame and cloud motifs, which is attached to the back of the figure by a simple metal pin. The base is hollow and the casting shows some coarseness in the fine details. No reign marks or inscriptions are present.

Condition report:
The figure shows significant age-related wear to the surface gilding, particularly on the raised surfaces, revealing the darker bronze substrate beneath. There are signs of minor surface oxidation, pitting, and accumulated dust in the recessed areas. The mandorla is intact but shows minor bending.
