Description
This stylized owl figure is hand-carved from a single block of dark-toned hardwood. The piece features extensive gouge-carved texturing across the body to represent plumage and wings. The head is defined by large, recessed almond-shaped eyes and a minimalist beak. The base is flat and shows the natural cross-section of the wood grain. Faint, illegible handwritten numbers in pencil or marker are present on the underside of the base. The carving reflects a mid-20th-century folk art aesthetic.

Width: Approximately 3.5 inches at the base.
Condition report:
The figure is in good overall condition. A prominent vertical seasoning crack, or checking, is visible on the reverse, extending from the crown of the head through the body. There is minor surface wear and small nicks consistent with age and handling.
