Description
This George III style bureau bookcase is constructed with high-contrast burr walnut veneers. The piece is designed with a narrow bachelor width and features one-piece construction. The upper cabinet contains a single door inset with glass panels divided by double gothic arch-style astragal glazing bars, opening to reveal three adjustable shelves. The bureau section features a slant-front desk that opens on brass hinges to a fitted interior consisting of four small drawers, four pigeonholes, and a central cupboard door. The writing surface is inset with a red leather scriver decorated with gold-tooled borders. The lower section includes four graduated long drawers equipped with brass batwing-style drawer pulls and matching keyhole escutcheons. The unit is supported by a molded bracket base. A handwritten identification tag is attached to the piece.

Condition report:
Overall good condition with minor surface wear, including small scratches and nicks consistent with age and use. Visible scuffing is present on the face of the bottom drawer. The leather writing surface shows light wear, indentations, and minor creasing. The structure is one continuous piece. Some dust is present on the underside of the bracket feet.
