Description
A pair of Louis XVI style open armchairs produced by Baker Furniture. The carved wooden frames feature a light honey-toned finish with intentional antique-style distressing, including simulated wormholes and flyspecking. The chairs are designed with an arched top rail, curved stiles, and padded armrests with scrolled handholds. Each chair is supported by fluted, tapered legs ending in toupie feet, with the seat rail joined by blocks featuring carved floral rosettes. The upholstery consists of a red and cream plaid checkered fabric covering the backs, arm pads, and loose seat cushions. The manufacturer’s label with a crown emblem and the text Baker Furniture is located on the seat deck, alongside a partial law tag identifying the maker as the Baker Furniture Company of High Point, North Carolina. The seat cushions are filled with a blend of polyurethane foam, polyester fiber, 75 percent waterfowl feathers, and 25 percent down.

Condition report:
The chairs are in very good overall condition. The frames exhibit intentional factory distressing consistent with the manufacturer\'s style. The upholstery appears clean and well-maintained with no visible stains or tears. Minor wear is present on the underside near the labels and seams, typical of light use.
