Description
This impressionistic oil painting on canvas depicts a rolling Tuscan landscape featuring a terracotta-roofed villa atop a central hill. The composition is rendered in a palette of warm ochres, oranges, and purples with visible, gestural brushwork. The work is signed in red paint at the lower left corner Suzanne French Luker. The verso reveals the title BURNT BROWNS OF TUSCANY and a repeat signature Suzanne French Luker inscribed along the top edge of the canvas, accompanied by the notation Z.23.11. The painting is housed in a large, ornate gilded frame with scrolled foliate motifs at the corners and rails. A wooden corner brace on the reverse is inscribed with the dimensions 40 x 30.
