Lot 16:
Description
This Chinoiserie-style side table is constructed in the Chinese Chippendale manner, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The piece features a rectangular top with molded edges above a single drawer. The drawer front is decorated with a highly figured burl veneer and is fitted with a cast brass openwork drop pull. The drawer box is constructed with a secondary wood that appears to be oak. The table is supported by four tall faux bamboo turned legs joined by a decorative fretwork apron at the top and a simple X-stretcher at the base. Each leg terminates in a brass ferrule foot. The underside of the table shows a stamped uppercase letter B and a stamped four-digit sequence 2862, along with partially legible black ink markings.
Dimensions: 14 inches wide x 11 inches deep x 24 inches high.
Condition report:
Good vintage condition overall. Surface inspection reveals minor scuffs and light scratches to the wood finish consistent with age and use. There is a small chip visible on the interior upper edge of the drawer front. The brass feet and hardware exhibit light tarnishing. One leg shows a minor surface scuff on its side.
