Description
This item is a framed reproduction lithograph of the “Bird’s Eye View of the City of Atlanta, the Capitol of Georgia 1871,” based on the original work drawn and published by A. Ruger of St. Louis, Missouri. The map provides a detailed perspective looking northeast, illustrating the city street grid, individual buildings, and surrounding landscape in a palette of muted greens, blues, and tans. The bottom of the print includes comprehensive reference keys for local landmarks, including the State House and various colleges, as well as a list of local churches. The central title area is decorated with an ornamental scroll featuring an eagle emblem and a central depiction of the State House.
Text in the lower margin identifies the source as “Reproduced from a lithograph in the Library of Congress” and notes it was “Printed in U.S.A.” The piece is housed in a black molded frame with a decorative inner beaded edge. The reverse is finished with brown paper backing and features a label from “House of 10,000 Picture Frames” commemorating their 22nd anniversary (1971-1993), indicating a production date for the frame and print in the late 20th century.

Condition report:
The print is in overall good condition with no visible signs of foxing, fading, or moisture damage. The paper is flat and well-preserved within the frame. The frame is structurally sound with minor shelf wear and a few small scuffs to the black finish, particularly at the corners. The backing paper is intact and includes a hanging wire.
