Description
This lidded vessel is decorated in the Kamasan style of Bali, Indonesia. It is constructed from a natural gourd or coconut shell body with a fitted circular wooden lid. The exterior surface is coated in a white ground and hand-painted using traditional pigments in shades of red, yellow, and black. The narrative decoration depicts two human figures in dynamic postures wearing traditional Balinese dress, set against stylized floral and foliate motifs. The lid features a radiating floral pattern and a central knob finial. A small circular hole is present near the upper rim of the body.

Condition report:
The vessel shows significant age-related wear including extensive flaking and loss to the painted surface across the body and lid. Multiple vertical structural cracks are visible in the shell. The interior shows natural surface wear and discoloration consistent with use and age.
