Description
This mid-century modern mixed media artwork is by David Holleman and consists of hand-formed ceramic mosaic tiles and incised sgraffito ceramic panels mounted on a plywood support. The central composition features a blue-glazed rectangular panel depicting an incised stylized figure standing between two graphic trees beneath a crescent moon and a mountain peak. This central panel is surmounted by a triangular pediment section displaying geometric and botanical patterns in sgraffito. These focal elements are framed by rectangular fields of multi-colored ceramic tesserae in various glazes, including turquoise, terracotta, ochre, deep red, and cream. The work is signed Holleman on a light-colored tile in the lower-left quadrant. The piece is presented in a simple mitered dark wood frame. The verso reveals a plywood backing with a wire hanger and an old adhesive label remnant.

Condition report:
The artwork appears to be in very good condition. There is minor surface dust visible in the grout lines. The ceramic tiles and sgraffito panels are intact with no apparent chips or cracks. The wooden frame shows light surface scuffing and minor wear to the edges and corners consistent with age.
