Description
This original oil painting on canvas portrays a coastal village harbor scene in winter. The central composition features a red brick church tower with a gold-toned dome and weather vane, standing among buildings with snow-covered roofs and distant hills. The foreground shows frozen water with small dories moored beside a wooden wharf structure. The artist utilizes a mid-century modernist style characterized by simplified geometric shapes and visible, textured brushwork. The work is held in a simple, molded light-brown wooden frame. The reverse of the frame features a partial label for E. Mirman, Artistic Picture Framing, located at 3368 Fulton St., Brooklyn. Several pencil notations are present on the back, including SAT and #94. No artist signature is visible on the front or back of the canvas.

Condition report:
The painting exhibits some surface dirt and a prominent canvas weave visible through the paint layers. The wooden frame shows minor scuffing and wear consistent with age. The paper dust cover on the reverse is heavily torn and partially detached.
