Description
A Japanese Gold Imari hand-painted porcelain planter with a matching underplate. Decorated in the polychrome Imari style, featuring rich cobalt blue and iron red grounds interspersed with shaped white panels, all extensively accented with gold. The panels depict intricate scenes of birds among flowering branches, alongside detailed floral arrangements. Borders and background areas are filled with stylized patterns. The rim of the planter and the edge of the underplate are finished with gold bands. The underside of both pieces is marked in gold with ‘GOLD IMARI, ‘ ‘Hand Painted, ‘ and ‘JAPAN, ‘ accompanied by a stylized rectangular maker’s mark.

Condition report:
Good overall condition. Colors remain strong. Visible soil residue to the interior of the planter from prior use. No apparent chips, cracks, or repairs.
