Description
A pair of rectangular decorative pillows from The Vatican Library Collection. Each pillow features a central needlepoint panel depicting a figure, possibly a baker, attending to an oven, alongside an ornate foliate motif in a style reminiscent of medieval or early Renaissance art. The needlepoint panels are bordered by a gold-colored twisted cord. The main body of each pillow is fashioned from a light, neutral-toned fabric with a woven floral or foliate damask pattern. Each pillow is generously trimmed with a voluminous tasseled fringe in a coordinating light color. The reverse of the pillows features an envelope closure. One pillow retains a legible manufacturer’s tag identifying it as “NEEDLEPOINT PILLOWS from THE VATICAN LIBRARY COLLECTION,” complete with a crest.

Condition report:
Both pillows are in good overall condition, showing no significant signs of wear, tears, or staining.
