Description
This large lidded ceramic vessel, resembling a tureen or covered bowl, features a bulbous body, a domed lid, and a prominent ridged finial. It is fitted with two applied stylized pink handles. The vessel is extensively decorated with flowering branches bearing peaches or pomegranates and various blossoms in a polychrome palette of soft pinks, greens, yellows, and blues on a pale cream ground. The underside of the foot reveals a red square seal mark with four characters, 乾隆年製 (Qiánlóng Nián Zhì), translating to “Made in the Qianlong reign,” alongside a small hand-painted red numeral “1”. While bearing this mark, the stylistic characteristics and market comparables suggest a mid-20th century production date, rendering the reign mark apocryphal.

Condition report:
Widespread fine crazing to the glaze is present across the body and lid. Minor dirt and wear are visible on the unglazed foot rim.
