Description
A Chinese cloisonné enamel ewer, crafted from gilt bronze with extensive cloisonné enamel decoration in floral, scroll, and geometric patterns against a white ground. The handle and spout are rendered with scaled textures and zoomorphic elements, connected by a gilt metal chain. A prominent carved light-colored stone insert on the body features the Chinese character ‘囍’ (xǐ), meaning ‘double happiness.’ The vessel is surmounted by a removable domed lid with a fitted stopper, possibly of bone or a similar material.

Good condition commensurate with age, showing minor enamel losses, surface wear to the gilt finish, and internal patination consistent with its age and use.
