Description
A vintage composition doll, ‘Wendy Ann’, by Madame Alexander, New York. The doll features a light skin tone composition body with green ‘tin eyes’ and a reddish-brown, medium-length wig adorned with small floral hairpins. She is dressed in a light-colored, possibly cream or pale pink, puffed-sleeve dress with ruffled trim and an elasticated waist, paired with matching bloomers and pale pink shoes tied with bows. A sewn-in fabric tag identifies the doll as “Wendy Ann” by Madame Alexander, N.Y. ALL RIGHTS Reserved. A handwritten paper tag attached to her wrist further dates her to “1937” and notes “Compo w/tin eyes,” along with “p. 40 Pat Smith.” The doll is presented on a modern metal stand.
Condition report:
Good overall condition for its age. Minor wear and slight dishevelment to the wig. Clothing shows some expected light discoloration and minor wear consistent with age and use. Composition body appears stable with no significant cracks or losses observed.
