Description
This lot comprises two lead crystal pedestal dishes of Irish manufacture. The primary piece is a Waterford Crystal compote featuring a shallow, circular bowl with a faceted rim and mitre-cut panels around the exterior. The stem is designed with faceted sections flanking a central bulbous knop decorated in a diamond cross-hatch pattern. The piece stands on a heavy, stepped octagonal base with a starburst pattern cut into the underside. It bears an acid-etched Waterford mark with the seahorse logo. The second item is a Galway Irish Crystal pedestal dish, identified by a faceted, scalloped base and an acid-etched script maker mark on the underside. Both items are crafted from clear, heavy lead crystal with precision hand-finished cutting.
Waterford dish height: 4.25 inches.
Condition report:
Both pieces are in excellent condition. The crystal is clear and bright without clouding or sickness. The cutting is sharp and free of chips, cracks, or fleabites. A small amount of white adhesive residue is present on the underside of the Waterford base near the maker mark.
