Description
A Baker Furniture Collector’s Edition Federal style serpentine front mahogany sideboard. The case is constructed with mahogany and features highly figured flame mahogany veneers with light wood stringing and decorative band inlays. The central section consists of a wide convex drawer over a pair of cupboard doors, flanked by two side sections with a single drawer and cupboard door each. The unit stands on six tapered legs with inlaid stringing and contrasting cuffs. Hardware includes brass oval backplates with bail handles and brass escutcheons. The interior of the central drawer displays two manufacturer labels: an oval silver toned Baker Furniture tag and a rectangular brass label for the Collector’s Edition. The item is noted as being of significant weight.

Condition report:
There is a significant loss of mahogany veneer on the front rail above the central drawer, exposing the substrate. Minor surface scuffs, light scratches, and finish wear are present on the top and legs consistent with age and use.
