Description
A mahogany open armchair designed in the Chippendale style. The chair features a pierced back splat in a ribbon-back design under a shaped crest rail with a central carved foliate motif and scrolled ears. The open arms are curved with scroll grips and supported by shaped arm stumps. The padded seat is upholstered in a cream-colored fabric with a large floral pattern in shades of pink, orange, and green. The chair is supported by square front legs with vertical fluting and raked square rear legs, all joined by an H-form stretcher. Clear plastic glides have been added to the feet. A handwritten paper tag is present with measurements.
37.5 inches H x 24 inches W x 20 inches D.
Condition report:
The chair is in good overall condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. Visible defects include small scuffs and dings on the mahogany finish, primarily located on the lower legs and stretchers. A small white scuff mark is present on the rear stretcher. The upholstery is clean and shows only minor signs of use.
