Description
A two drawer bombe commode featuring highly figured burled wood veneer with a rich, warm finish. The chest is characterized by a pronounced swelling shape to both the front and sides, supported by four carved cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. The front is composed of two full width drawers with serpentine profiles, fitted with ornate cast brass bail pull handles and decorative backplates. The top surface follows the contoured shape of the base and features a matching burled veneer with a molded edge. Drawers are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints visible on the side panels.

Condition report:
Significant veneer loss is present on the front rail above the upper drawer, exposing the secondary wood. Minor veneer chipping is visible along the lower scalloped apron. The top surface exhibits numerous light scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations consistent with use. General nicks and abrasions are present on the legs and edges.
