Lot 44:
Description
This lot features three decorative cast brass animal figurines. The largest item is a stylized koi or carp figurine, depicted with an open mouth and detailed scales in a curved, dynamic form. The owl figurine displays a minimalist, smooth-bodied design with large concentric circular eyes, reflective of Mid-Century Modern aesthetic influences. The collection is completed by a lizard figurine featuring a textured, dotted skin pattern and a curled tail. All pieces appear to be sand-cast or lost-wax cast with chased surface details. No maker marks, hallmarks, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on any of the items. The brass surfaces show an aged patina with some areas of oxidation and surface tarnish.
Fish Length: Approximately 9.5 inches
Owl Height: Approximately 3 inches
Lizard Length: Approximately 5.5 inches.
Condition report:
The koi fish figurine shows a significant amateur repair at the attachment point of one pectoral fin, involving a visible white adhesive resin and rough metalwork. The owl and lizard figurines are in good vintage condition with scattered surface tarnish, light wear, and a darkened aged patina consistent with age and use.
