Description
A set of four Wedgwood Cornucopia Bicentenary Celebration octagonal bone china plates, dated 1996. Each plate features a white ground with a mottled cream-colored central well. The border is defined by a dark blue band outlined in gold, accented with ornate gold scrollwork, and finished with a gold rim. The focal point of each plate is a central circular medallion on a dark blue background, depicting a white mythical creature with a single horn and a large spiraled shell-like tail, reminiscent of a sea-unicorn or hippocampus, surrounded by marine-inspired motifs. The reverse of one plate is marked with a blue printed backstamp that reads "BICENTENARY", "J. Wedgwood" (stylized signature), "CELEBRATION", "CORNUCOPIA", "WEDGWOOD", "BONE CHINA", "MADE IN ENGLAND", and "© WEDGWOOD 1996".
