Description
A mechanical cash register manufactured by The National Cash Register Co. of Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A. The machine features a curved housing constructed of patinated copper-tone metal, mounted atop a dark-stained wooden base that contains a functional cash drawer. The register utilizes a stepped keyboard composed of 37 individual keytops arranged in 19 columns, marked with various dollar and cent denominations, alongside functional keys including ‘Paid Out’ and ‘Chg’ (Change). The top section incorporates a display window behind clear protective material, which currently displays a label marked “$4.” An auxiliary component, likely associated with a receipt or ticket dispenser, projects from the right side of the main housing. A metal plaque identifying the manufacturer as “THE NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. DAYTON, OHIO, U.S.A.” is affixed to the front of the wooden base, and the rear panel confirms the cursive “National” logo.
