Description
A set of three ceramic canisters by Certified International Corporation (CIC), designed by Peggy Jo Ackley, in the ‘Basket of Fruit’ style. Each canister features a square base designed to resemble a light wood-toned berry basket. The bases are accented with blue and white gingham check patterns; the strawberry canister displays a decorative gingham bow, while the blueberry and blackberry canisters feature horizontal gingham straps. Each canister is topped with a sculpted, glazed lid depicting a generous pile of fruit: one with red strawberries, another with deep blue blueberries and green leaves, and the third with purple blackberries. A visible mark on the underside of one piece identifies it as “CERTIFIED INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION” with the “CIC” logo, “Made in China, ” and “© PEGGY JO ACKLEY, ” indicating a modern period of production.
