Lot 261:
Description
4 x 16
4 x 7
The lot comprises two distinct decorative objects. The first is a tall pedestal globe featuring a polished brass or bronze base and tapered stem, adorned with acanthus leaf details. This supports a spherical element constructed from multiple tessellated bone or ivory panels. The second item is a smaller bimetallic stand, which includes a copper or bronze-toned circular base and flat top surface, connected by a central column and decorative rims in a silver-colored metal. The stand is extensively decorated with finely engraved or repoussé foliate motifs.
Condition report:
Both pieces are in good apparent condition, displaying expected patination and surface wear commensurate with age. The spherical element of the pedestal globe exhibits natural striations and minor hairline cracks. No clear textual markings are visible.
