Description
A Gay Fad Mid-Century ‘Can Can Girl’ Cocktail Shaker and Mixing Tumbler. This lot comprises a vintage frosted glass cocktail shaker with a three-piece chrome-plated metal lid and a matching smaller frosted glass mixing tumbler featuring an integrated metal strainer lid. Both pieces are decorated in a multi-color, mid-20th-century cartoon style; the shaker depicts a woman in a red dress at a bar and a group of revelers with musical notes, while the tumbler shows a strolling couple and a village scene. The reverse of the mixing tumbler displays cocktail recipes in black text for “MANHATTAN” and “MARTINI,” along with vertical “OUNCES” measurement markings ranging from ¼ to 9.
Condition report:
Good condition overall. Glass components are free from chips or cracks. Painted decoration is largely intact with minimal loss. Metal elements show minor surface wear and light scuffing consistent with age and use.
