Description
57″ x 27″ x 14″ A Late 20th Century Drexel Heritage Chinoiserie black lacquered console table. The rectangular table features a dark brown stained wooden frame with slender legs, supporting a black lacquered top and a single long drawer. Both the top and drawer front are adorned with intricate polychrome and gilt decoration depicting traditional East Asian landscapes with figures, pagodas, and bridges. The tabletop is protected by a fitted glass panel. The central drawer is fitted with a brass-tone key escutcheon and a decorative pull. A red seal mark on the drawer front reads ‘萬壽齋’ (Wàn Shòu Zhāi), translating to ‘Longevity Studio’.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. Minor surface wear and scratching consistent with age and use. The fitted glass panel shows some surface scratching.
