Description
A pair of Chinese carved ivory figures, each depicting a traditional East Asian figure. The female figure is portrayed in flowing robes, holding a scroll or staff and a flowering branch with traces of green pigment. The male figure is an elderly sage with a long beard, wearing a broad hat, and holding a staff and a fishing creel with a hanging fish. Both figures are carved from a creamy-white ivory material, exhibiting natural striations and a yellowish patina, and are mounted on dark, tripod-footed wooden bases. The carvings display fine detail in their drapery, facial features, and accessories. No visible text or markings are present.

Generally good apparent condition. Minor loss to the upper left portion of the female figure\'s elaborate headdress. Natural striations and yellowish patina consistent with age and material.
