Description
This framed decorative display features a central oval classical-style profile silhouette, possibly of a female figure in a helmet, rendered in dark tone against a lighter, opaque off-white material. Flanking this are two rectangular, dark reddish-brown, translucent pieces, each containing a deeply-set, subtle profile portrait, resembling intaglios in a resinous material such as amber or wax. The ensemble is housed in a dark wood frame with a reeded inner edge and silver-toned inner and outer lips. The reverse of the frame is covered with a patterned red and off-white floral-geometric paper.
Measurement: 10.25 x 7.25 IN
Condition report:
Good for its age. Minor wear to the frame. Fine surface crazing present on the central oval element.
