Description
A Late 20th Century Chinese Chinoiserie porcelain figural bowl stand, depicting a seated monkey. The polychrome ceramic piece features a stylized monkey with textured fur detail, wearing a reddish-brown vest with yellow trim and green frog closures. The monkey holds a lotus-form bowl on its head. The bowl’s exterior is pale green and pink, while the interior is decorated with various fruits including grapes, apples, pears, and watermelon slices. The underside of the hollow base is marked with clear English text: "FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY, " "NOT FOR FOOD USE, " "MAY POISON FOOD, " and "MADE IN CHINA." Partially obscured red characters above this appear to read 景德镇制 (Jǐngdézhèn zhì), indicating ‘Made in Jingdezhen.’
