Description
A Jasper Cabinet faux bamboo Regency style roll-top secretary desk. This painted wood desk features a distressed yellow finish with white accents, particularly on the bamboo-style turned legs and the framed drawer fronts, evoking a Chinoiserie or Regency-revival aesthetic. The desk is composed of a top section with five small drawers, a tambour roll-top revealing a writing surface with two smaller interior drawers and a scalloped cubby, and a lower section with one long drawer. The lower drawer is detailed with two ornate metal ring pulls and a central key escutcheon. The interior of the lower drawer shows natural unfinished wood, likely oak. A clear manufacturer’s mark for “JASPER CABINET” with a registered trademark symbol is present on the interior side of the large lower drawer.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. Exhibits surface wear, minor paint loss, and scuffs consistent with age and use. The finish has an overall intentionally distressed appearance. The roll-top mechanism functions smoothly.
