Description
A pair of Mid-Century Modern hurricane lamps by Towle. Each lamp features a bulbous, yellowish-amber crackle glass shade, uniformly textured, seated on a stepped, bell-shaped electro-plate metal base. The metal bases exhibit an iridescent, dark grey-blue to purplish finish. The underside of one base retains a worn, circular label marked ‘TOWLE, ‘ ‘THE PROUDEST NAME IN SILVERPLATE, ‘ and ‘TOWLE E.P. – GERMANY 4184,’ indicating German origin and electro-plate construction.

Condition report:
Minor surface wear and scuffs to the metal bases consistent with age and use. The crackle glass shades appear to be in good condition with no visible chips or cracks.
