A Lambert Hitchcock stenciled three-piece suite, comprising a console table, a Windsor-style side chair, and a rectangular wall mirror. All pieces are crafted from wood with a unifying black lacquered finish, adorned with elaborate gilt stenciling depicting floral, foliage, and fruit motifs, characteristic of the Federal or Sheraton Revival aesthetics often associated with Hitchcock furniture from the mid-20th century. The console table features a rectangular top with rounded corners, a shallow backsplash with scrolled ends, two drawers, and turned legs. The accompanying side chair has a saddle seat, turned spindles, legs, and stretchers. The mirror showcases a frame with turned column-like elements and decorative corner blocks.
Condition report:
The suite exhibits consistent wear commensurate with age and use. There are visible scuffs, scratches, and areas of finish loss, particularly to the table top, chair seat, and edges of all pieces. The gilt stenciling shows minor rubbing and fading in places. No discernible text or markings are visible. Overall condition is fair to good.
