A pair of Ballard Designs ladder back rush seat counter stools, exhibiting a traditional or French Provincial-inspired country style. Each stool is constructed from dark-stained solid wood, featuring a scalloped top rail, two shaped horizontal back slats, and square, tightly woven rush seats. No discernible manufacturer’s marks or identifying text are visible.
Condition report:
Consistent with age and use. The wooden frames exhibit moderate wear, including numerous scuffs and scratches, particularly on the legs and seat rails. One chair has a noticeable area of finish loss on its front seat rail. The rush seats appear structurally sound with minor cosmetic wear.
