Description
A bombe-front chest of drawers or commode, designed in a French Provincial or Rococo revival style. It features two full-width drawers with a visually segmented facade, giving the appearance of six smaller panels across two rows. Constructed from wood, the commode is finished in a vibrant, deliberately distressed red paint with darker antiquing details and a planked top surface. The drawers are equipped with ornate brass or bronze-toned metal floral-motif drop pulls and central key escutcheons. The piece rests on elegant cabriole legs with a scalloped apron. The interior of the drawers reveals lighter, unfinished wood. No visible manufacturer’s marks or textual inscriptions are present.
