Description

32 x 24 x 14 unfolded

A single drop-leaf gate-leg occasional table executed in the Queen Anne or Colonial Revival style, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The table is constructed of hardwood, finished with a dark reddish-brown stain, possibly utilizing mahogany veneer. When fully extended, the top assumes a square form with rounded corners. The top features two hinged leaves and displays a diagonally matched, figured grain pattern. When the single leaf is lowered, the piece converts into a triangular or half-round console configuration, a form sometimes referred to in the market as a Handkerchief Table. The table is supported by four slender, slightly curved cabriole legs that terminate in distinct club or pad feet. No manufacturer markings or text are visible.
