Lot 334:
Description
3 x 7 A Vintage 1950s ‘The Bar Is Open’ Bartender Red Nose Lamp, likely produced in Japan. Crafted from glazed ceramic or pottery, this novelty bar light depicts a caricatured male figure with a flushed complexion and a prominent, illuminated red spherical nose. He is dressed in a black suit jacket with a white shirt and bow tie, positioned behind a small bar counter adorned with two miniature bottles and a goblet. A rectangular plaque on the front of the bar reads “THE BAR IS OPEN” in gold lettering. The item features a power cord extending from the back, consistent with a decorative electrical light or sign from the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The glazed finish appears intact with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The power cord is present. Appears to be in working order, though not tested by the auction house.
