Lot 11:
Description
A pair of highly stylized decorative art dolls by Poupées Isabelle, created by Diane Garrison of Wilmington, N.C. 28412. These dolls, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century or contemporary period, exhibit a whimsical and artistic aesthetic. Both dolls feature porcelain heads with painted facial features, articulated porcelain hands, and feet in black high-heeled shoes. They are adorned with elaborate fabric costumes in bold, colorful patterns; one doll features floral motifs, and the other displays abstract/geometric designs. Each doll is topped with an oversized, sculptural headpiece, likely crafted from ceramic or a similar hard material. One doll is presented seated in a miniature, faux-leather upholstered armchair, which appears to be ceramic or resin, detailed with six star-like embellishments on its backrest. A paper tag attached to this doll is marked "Poupées Isabelle" with an illustrative logo, and on its reverse, "DIANE GARRISON, WILMINGTON, N.C. 28412."
Dolls: roughly 10 x 15 inches
Chair: roughly 8 x 5.5 inches
Condition report:
Both dolls and the accompanying armchair are in good overall condition, showing only minor surface wear consistent with their decorative nature and age. No significant damage or repairs are noted.
